RUSTIC CABIN BATHROOM RENOVATIONS

April 18, 2016
I'm excited to share the design elements and finishes selected for one of my client’s Master Bathroom and Guest Bathroom.  Here are a few details my client requested for the complete renovation of their Master Bathroom:
  • Double Vanity with storage in the middle
  • Walk in Shower
  • Tile Flooring
  • Additional Storage
  • Use existing trim and doors
  • Rustic Cabin look
MASTER BATHROOM
The Master Bathroom needed an entire renovation. Not only was it outdated, but it was not functional for two people... it had a single sink vanity, small shower, huge linen closet that was way too big for the space, and linoleum floor. Unfortunately I did not make it in time to capture BEFORE pictures of the Master Bathroom before demo started. :(
To make the Master Bathroom larger we gained space from the adjacent Master Bedroom by moving the separating wall a couple feet. To achieve the “Rustic Cabin” look, I used lots of textures along with gray tones, and incorporated accents with warm wood tones as well.
The newly renovated Master Bathroom now accommodates an Amish-built custom stained double- vanity with custom framed mirrors to match the stain on the existing trim and doors, gray quartz countertop, and for the final touch two vessel sinks with bronze faucets and light fixtures finishes this focal point wall off nicely.

My client wanted darker colors and natural stone to be used in this bathroom, so I chose a light paint color with a medium gray tile laid in a brick pattern, so the space would not feel too dark and enclosed.

We added a large, spacious walk-in shower with natural stone/slate and hammered shower glass to add texture and dimension to the space.

Massive bronze rain showerhead finishes off this luxury walk-in shower.

Lastly, a custom stained linen cabinet accented with frosted glass adds additional storage to the space in a beautiful setting.

GUEST BATHROOM
Client’s Requests for Guest Bathroom:
  • Updated Double Vanity
  • Deep Soaker Tub with shower
  • Tile Flooring
  • Additional lighting
  • Use existing trim and doors
  • Rustic Cabin look

Let’s start with the before pictures…
The Guest Bathroom was dark and desperately needed an update. The walls were textured with tissue paper faux finish and there was water damage in the popcorn ceiling. The vanity was very low with an outdated countertop, shower surround was yellow, and it was time for the linoleum floor to go!

Working with the space, I made some cosmetic tweaks which made the room feel a lot larger. To achieve the client's desired “Rustic Cabin” look, in the Guest Bathroom I chose to use more of sleek, clean design selecting finishes more towards the feminine side but still can appeal to be masculine as well.
The newly renovated Guest Bathroom includes Amish-built custom wood double-vanity, gray quartz countertop, and rustic wood grain tile backsplash.  Adding new wall mount light fixtures from Home Depot along with recessed lighting for ample light, highlights each rustic mirror and makes this wall a beautiful focal point.

I chose a lighter tile for the floor and continued it up the shower wall to brighten up the space, and to highlight the new accent shower wall.  The bathroom walls were newly sheet rocked and freshly painted giving this space a clean, sleek but rustic look.

Hope you enjoyed these rustic cabin bathroom renovations. Thanks for stopping by!
